What is the XR-Lympics?

XR-Lympics was established to extend the excitement of the Olympics to the XR world. Developers of three games - Real VR Fishing, Eleven Table Tennis, and Walkabout Mini Golf - cooperated.

The 2024 XR-Lympics: Summer Series will feature three games and six missions, with two missions for each game. Yes, XR-Lympics is not a big competition yet. But you should take note of the amazing possibilities this competition has. We emphasize the strength of XR-Lympics in three aspects: regularization, scalability, and formalization.

The XR-Lympics is not a single event - as the name 2024 XR-Lympics: Summer Series suggests, it could happen again in the following years, and again in different seasons. This means that competitions can be regularized.

Any XR game on a major platform can knock on XR-Lympics' door. As long as the game can provide "content that fits the competition format" and is differentiated from the other games in the competition, it's a good fit. Currently, there are only six missions from three games, but we believe that many more games and missions will be available for XR-Lympics in the future, which means the competition is scalable.

Finally, there has never been a competition of this regularized/scalable nature in the world of XR. XR-Lympics is a pioneer, providing the foundation and vision for such a competition. Therefore, we believe that XR-Lympics will be formalized as a representative competition for XR.
